Mission:

We offer a diverse educational community built on a balanced learning approach that fosters creativity, critical thinking, and respect.

Vision:

We partner with parents to create life-long learners who respect themselves, others, and the environment. Our goal is to guide each child’s natural love of learning in a positive direction that will serve them well as they grow.

Philosophy:

Children learn in many varied ways. It is important to provide a loving and safe environment first and foremost. Every child deserves the opportunity to experience the world around them using all theirs senses and abilities. Our school provides a balance of teacher-directed activities and “hands on” play activities to teach the children in our care. The children will learn to respect themselves and others. They will experience nature, science, and cooking first hand. Their inner artist will shine through with daily art and we'll explore math, writing, and cognitive skills. We read to the children daily and explore song and dance. Our curriculum expands the many varied learning objectives from letters, numbers, and colors to gross/ fine motor skills, self-help, and social studies.

History:

Beacon Learning Academy was founded in October 2014 by the Singh family. The Singh's have been members of the Cary community since they were children and have lived here together since 2002 when they were married. The Singh’s have 3 children of their own and Laurie has worked in the education field since 1993. Laurie’s own experiences as a teacher and director drove her desire to start a year-round half-day preschool that offers a program focused on educational needs balanced with self-help and emotional needs.
